Where: VFW “Hells Bottom” Takoma Park 6420 Orchard Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912
Start directions: Park in the gravel lot at the VFW, follow chalk to sign-in and beginning circle (2 block walk).
Metro directions: Take the red line to Takoma. Take the F2 bus towards Cheverly (departure time 2:27 – runs hourly). Disembark on Eastern Ave where Kansas Ave crosses (5 min ride). Cross to the other side of Eastern Ave and walk down 4th Ave for 2 blocks. The VFW will be on the right. Follow chalk to start.
Alternative metro directions: Take the red or green line to Fort Totten (*green line is single-tracking). Take the K6 bus towards White Oak (departure time 2:36 or 2:51 – runs every 15 mins). Disembark on New Hampshire Ave where Sheridan St crosses (10 min ride). Cross to the other side of New Hampshire Ave. Follow chalk to start.

How Much: $15.00
Trail Description: Bring headlamps and dry shoes for both walkers and runners trails! Shiggy factor: 6 of 10 – definitely PI, ticks, and water crossings; A to A’ ; Walkers trail is NOT stroller friendly.
On-After: VFW Takoma Park – CASH only
On-After details: $15 gets you trail, pitchers of draft beer or sodas until 8pm, and a barbecue (pulled pork, chicken chili, & hot dogs) prepared by our grillmaster, Pervarotti. GF & Vegetarian dishes will be provided (speak to the Hare Assistants for details). If you want to contribute, feel free to bring a dessert to share.
Bring chairs for seating outside. A local band starts playing around 830pm. Please tip them & your bartenders! If you plan to purchase anything on your own/after 8pm, please be aware that the VFW is CASH only.
